New Development Requirements
Barrow County will be
implementing new stormwater control and treatment requirements for new developments by the end of 2004.
The Georgia Stormwater Management Manual (GSMM or the "blue book") will be adopted and the evaluation of water quality will be required
for new developments.
As this deadline approaches, the County will post additional information on this web page regarding new requirements,
and will offer local training opportunities to engineers and developers within the County.

We also need your help!
One additional way to get involved in protecting our water resources is through complaint reporting.
County residents are urged to keep apprised of what is going on in the community surrounding them.
If you see excessive erosion and sedimentation escaping an active construction site, please fill out the County's
Stormwater Complaint Reporting Form
so that we can investigate potential problems.
